Using Light Tracer in Cold Weather: Published Limits

Light Tracer's product page lists an operating temperature range of −10°C to 50°C, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and 4–6 hours of stated runtime. These figures do not guarantee the same brightness or runtime throughout the full temperature range.

Check the conditions before use

Read the instructions supplied with your device and battery. Keep use within the specified limits. If the pointer behaves abnormally, stop using it and follow the manufacturer's troubleshooting guidance rather than trying to force it to operate.

The stated operating range should not be treated as a charging-temperature specification. Use the supplied charging instructions; do not improvise heating methods or place the battery near an open flame.

Plan battery use separately from emergency needs

The website's 4–6 hour figure describes stated battery life, not a guarantee for a winter trip. Usage pattern and conditions can change runtime. Do not depend on the pointer as your only light or emergency signal.

Snow does not remove beam hazards

IPX4 is the listed splash-resistance rating. It does not establish immersion protection or operation after water enters the device. Follow the product's storage instructions when moving between outdoor and indoor conditions.

Never aim at people, animals, vehicles, aircraft, or reflective surfaces. If the beam path cannot be controlled, leave the pointer off.
