Replacement Presentation Remote Receivers: Check the Model Number

If a presentation remote is missing its USB receiver, check the remote’s exact model number before ordering a replacement. The name printed on a sales listing can cover more than one version of the remote.

The same R800 name can require a different receiver

Logitech’s replacement-receiver guide lists two receiver versions that cannot be interchanged. For the R800, it pairs presenter M/N R-R0003 with receiver C-U0005, and presenter M/N R-R0009 with receiver C-U0014.

For these listed presenters, the guide locates the model number (M/N) inside its battery compartment and the receiver’s number on its back. Record both numbers rather than choosing from a photograph or the R800 product name alone. Use the manufacturer’s full table for its other listed presenters; this example does not establish compatibility for every remote.

Settle these details before buying a spare

  • Your exact remote: Read its model label, especially when buying used equipment or a listing without the original receiver.
  • The offered receiver: Ask for its model number and the manufacturer’s matching information for your remote version.
  • Connection requirements: Confirm any pairing procedure and currently supported computer or software requirements. A compatible part number alone does not demonstrate that setup has succeeded.
  • What you can actually buy: Confirm availability, package contents and the seller’s stated replacement terms. A support table does not establish current stock.

Keep the confirmed answers with the listing. If the seller cannot identify the receiver or support the match, leave that purchase unresolved rather than treating the shared product name as proof.

For physical pointing rather than slide control, our laser pointer versus presentation remote guide explains the separate product categories. The current Light Tracer listing describes a handheld green pointer and charging kit; those details do not promise a presentation receiver or replacement-remote compatibility.
